The Student Services Office, which operates under the umbrella of the Registrar’s Office,works with lecturers and tutors in supporting students throughout ITB. The StudentServices Team is there to help you, so contactthem if you have queries about any aspect of life at ITB (01)8851000

Student Services Officer

Located first floor Block C Room C113
This office provides support and co-ordinates facilities for students with disabilities. Students who have special needs are encouraged to let us know as early as possible by registering with the Student Services Office. Some supports may be of a financial or learning issue. Students who wish to avail of these services can make an appointment at the Student Information Desk Library Block F or by email cynthia.ohea@itb.ie or patricia.doyle@itb.ie.

Funding

The Higher Education Authority provides a special limited fund- Student Assistance Fund to assist full-time students experiencing financial hardship.  Funding may be made available after a confidential interview and subject to approval at Student Assistance Fund meeting also depending on funds available.

We appreciate that students can sometimesrun into financial difficulty during theirthird level education. A limited emergencyfund is available to assist students whofind themselves in this situation. The fundis intended to meet short-term financialcrises, and students are expected to repaymoney they have received from the fundwhen their financial circumstances allow,so that the fund can be redirected to othersin need. The fund is accessed through theStudent Services Officer (01) 885 1028.

Chaplaincy

We have not got a full time chaplain here at the Institute but we have services at several times during the year and there is the opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have.

Counselling Service

Located room A2 Block A
From time to time, some students may experience personal difficulties, such as difficulties with study or examinations, lack of confidence and self- esteem, unsatisfactory relationships, family difficulties, anxiety or depression. If so, we would strongly encourage you to avail of our professional, confidential and free counselling service, available to all students. The student counsellor is Ger Quiney, and is available Monday to Friday and can be contacted by e-mail (Ger.quiney@itb.ie), mobile (087) 2406908.

Careers Service

Located first floor, block C
The careers service offers support and advice to students in a confidential and professional manner. Our aim is to facilitate students to obtain employment or explore further study. The careers service advertises graduate opportunities, job vacancies and general career s information on the careers notice board(s) and on the institutes website at  www.itb.ie. Student’s can drop into the career office room between 10.00am and 12.30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. ITB Health centre

Located first floor, block C
The institute has a fully equipped medical centre on campus which offers a comprehensive health service to all students. A full nursing service is available Monday-Friday 9.15am to 5.00pm throughout the academic year. All services in the student health centre are free of charge and totally confidential. No information will be divulged to any third party without the prior consent of the student. Students are requested to inform the student health centre of any chronic illnesses at registration. Sport at ITB

Sports office located in Block C,
The sports development officer organises and promotes our range of sporting activities, and co-ordinates the running of sporting events both within ITB and with other institutes and colleges. State-of-the-art sporting facilities are provided on campus, and so sport and involvement in sporting activities continue to develop as an important aspect of collage life.
